Enhanced Evaporative Emissions Testing

ATDS can provide engineering development and certification level evaporative emissions testing for PZEV / LEVII vehicles as well as for a variety of vehicles and fuel systems  ATDS can conduct your IUVP evaporative testing as well.

Equipment includes:

• Webber  Variable Volume Variable Temperature SHED (VVVT) capable of Federal and California Enhanced 2 and 3 day test sequences

• Horiba Fixed Volume SHED for pre 1996 vehicles and motorcycles.

• Webber ORVR (On-Board Vapor Recovery) modifications to allow refueling and spitback testing

• Webber Fuel Conditioning Cart for ORVR and motorcycle evaporative testing.

• Horiba FID with custom configurable ATDS built process controller runs both SHEDs

• Point-source running loss dynamometer cell

ATDS had the staff and experience to leverage our suite of evaporative equipment to test virtually any regulated fuel system of interest.  We have recently conducted SHED testing of fuel systems for the following unique situations:

• Fuel systems for auxiliary power generators for RVs

• Stationary source emission quantification for a local manufacturer of expanded styrene foam

• Measurement of evaporative emission from a gasoline electric hybrid city transit bus for the South Coast Air Quality Management District. The subject vehicle was too large to test in any known SHED, so ATDS designed and built a surrogate chassis and fuel system for testing purposes in our standard size SHED.

• Certification testing for a manufacturer of motor home chassis using a custom-built chassis with all fuel and evaporative system components installed on a cut-down drivable chassis.
