Regulatory Compliance Testing

Helping manufacturers comply with constantly evolving Federal and California regulations.

  • Evaporative Emissions Testing

ATDS routinely conducts IUVP evaporative testing for major OEMs.

Evaporative emissions testing for PZEV / LEVII vehicles as well as for a variety of vehicles and fuel systems.

                               Our Evap services include.

    • Fuel systems for auxillary power generators for RVs
    • CARB TP902 evaporative emissions testing for 2008 and later off road recreational vehicles and power equipment. Thermal cycling, pressure cycling, slosh stabilization services available.
    • Evaporative canister purge strategy development and in use canister performance studies

                                           Shed Testing

Our Variable Volume Variable Temperature SHED (VVVT) is capable of Federal and California Enhanced 2 and 3 day test sequences.

    • Evaporative Diurnal SHED testing
    • Running Loss evaporative test cell
    • ORVR (On-Board Vapor Recovery) SHED for refueling and spitback testing
    • Fuel Conditioning Cart for ORVR and motorcycle evaporative testing.

  • Catalytic Converter Aging and Certification

Our Ontario, Ca facility is equipped with an engine dyno for the use of catalytic converter certification. Aging and certification are done in according to CARB and EPA regulations.  Cats are subjected to exhaust temperatures of 900C with rich/lean cycle for 50+ hours.

  • CARB Executive Order (EO) Testing

California Vehicle Code, section 27156 (VC27156) and the Federal Clean Air Act(CAA) prohibit vehicle modifications which increase motor vehicle emissions. These "anti-tampering" provisions effectively prohibit the sales of after-market parts which are not functionally identical to the parts they are replacing. However, since most properly engineered parts do not increase emissions, the laws allow for exemptions for the installation of parts proven by their manufacturer and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) not to increase emissions. The process by which these exemptions are granted is via an Executive Order (EO). Each EO is assigned a number which is required on all after-market parts.

ATDS can locate and acquire the necessary vehicles, make the modifications in our well equipped, four lift mechanic's bay, conduct the required tests and provide properly formatted written reports of the results.

ATDS has existing driving routes which have been approved by CARB and the EPA for certification use.
