Vehicle Procurement
 ATDS has the
experience, tools and personnel to conduct
your In-Use Procurement project in an
expeditious and cost-effective manner.
Whether for Engineering data collection or
for Mandated compliance testing, ATDS can
locate and procure the vehicles, and/or
components, you require. Let our experienced

Experience
ATDS has procured over 3000 vehicles in the
last 5 years for both government agencies
and manufacturers. These procurement
activities have been conducted in
California, Michigan, Colorado and Texas and
have included both 49 and 50 state vehicles
from virtually all manufacturers. The
procurement projects have supported
government agency research projects and
manufacturer in-use compliance (CAP2000 and
IUMPR) testing. We have also procured
vehicles for use in ADP data collection
projects; some of these data collection
projects have involved an ATDS developed
data logging system. Project sizes have
ranged from just a few vehicles to over 750.
Our experiences in these projects have led
ATDS to refine our tools and procedures to
improve owner response and vehicle capture
rates. These can be critical factors in
projects with tight time-lines or small
vehicle families.
Tools
ATDS has the latest computer hardware and
software to facilitate the procurement
process. We can work from either
manufacturer provided owner lists, or, where
legal, from lists purchased from state
agencies or commercial sources. From these
lists, ATDS develops the databases necessary
to automate the printing and mailing process
and manage the procurement activities. Our
personalized letters enhance the likelihood
of owner participation in the project.
Personnel
The ATDS procurement team is the heart of
the operation. Our procurement personnel are
experienced in explaining the programs to
prospective participants in a friendly and
informative manner. This approach has
yielded consistently high capture rates,
particularly when dealing with owners of
expensive or high-end vehicles.
 Special Services
ATDS can provide assistance in any phase of
the procurement process, from telephone
interviews to vehicle pick-up and from
testing to component harvesting, vehicle
restoration and return. If necessary ATDS
can arrange for common carrier
transportation to or from out of state
locations. ATDS maintains a full capability
test laboratory in Ontario California where
your vehicles can be tested. A four bay
garage with lifts and skilled mechanics is
available for parts removal or vehicle
inspections. For your on-road data
collection needs, ATDS can recommend and
provide data logging systems with analog and
digital inputs and variable sampling
rates.
